Hi all,

I am attaching a review article that discusses the links between groups/civic associations and democracy.  I think it's a great read that gives a great overview of the ways groups can contribute to public and private sphere activities.  It list 6 ways that groups are believed to enhance democracy, based on past scholarship.

If the facilitators permit me to do so, I would like to lead a short exercise at the retreat that will ask you to identify and rank the contributions that you think are most important for CRUSH to embody as we move forward.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
Rebecca

The link on the email brings you here so RSVPing here, or messinging  me through here, is fine.

Thanks,

Hey all, check out this event.
The facilitators are good friends of mine that do amazing social justice work. I think that the capacity-building group in particular would benefit from this training and perhaps we should think of working with them on more targeted and focused training for CRUSH and the Holyoke community more generally.
I am out of town this weekend and won't be able to make it, but if you go please be in touch about how things went and if you have any ideas for how we can engage this dialogue in Holyoke in the future.

daphne and stan -thanks for hosting

christine - we will do the best we can but it may be more like the next day. Nothing decided at this meeting will be acted on until the next steering committee so there will be many opportunities to be involved and share your vision.
