Holyoke/Happy Valley Food Sourcing Project

Everybody loves food. Eating it, playing with it, whatever. This project is about sharing info on where to find it. The hidden or little known places in particular. The Mom and Pop diners and the small farms, the newest cafes, the local food lore.

Hi Cher Y and Diane-
(or is it Cher Y Diane?) I blab to everyone who will listen about great local eggs just across the river in Chicopee at Jersey Hill Farm. One can stop at Al's Diner and then head a mile down the road to Dave's farm and pick up fresh eggs. Unfortunately it seems that he will not be at this year's farmer's market in downtown on Thursdays. He did not receive any information this year from the City, and I guess it is just as well as he seems to be busy selling eggs at Atkins Farms now. But--you can pick up eggs and milk from Hadley at his farm.

Of course the freshest produce is down at La Finca on Main St...does anyone know whether they will be selling produce from their stand at the farm this year?

Great idea! I'm very interested in the local food system, particularly the growers, but also the outlets for getting those great ingredients transformed into delicious cuisine or just great grub.
