Comment by Veronika Kruta on May 7, 2012 at 11:42am Hello Holyoke Artists! I'd like to invite you all to the official opening of Gateway City Arts, a new workspace and educational facility in Holyoke for the casual creator to the professional artist. GCA is designed to promote creativity in a variety of disciplines from visual to performing arts. Come celebrate this new space with us this Saturday, May 12! Ribbon cutting with Mayor Morse at 3 pm, informal introduction to GCA's mission and vision at 3:30, and open house from 3 - 6! See you there!
*if you can't make it to the opening but would like to come see what GCA is about, tours can be scheduled through our website: www.gatewaycityarts.com.
Comment by Artis Falls on January 19, 2012 at 2:24pm Hello everyone! Glad to be apart of the group. If anyone is interested in helping out a new community center in Holyoke please let me know. We need volunteers to help create a space that Holyoke can be proud of. Also I would like to offer this space as a place artist can network and share ideas. It is located at 1 Main St. in Holyoke.
Hi all! Just joining this group now. Bollywood, flamenco, Rom gypsy and middle eastern dancing. Let me know if you would like to incorporate any of these energetic dances into your events. I can coordinate Bollywood dance parties and Open Square is a great location for this. Let me know if you might be interested in attending something like that.

Comment by Bronwen Hodgkinson on December 20, 2010 at 1:55pm This is exciting! Let me know when the proposal is ready and I'd be happy to list a call to artists on the Valley Arts Newsletter.
Comment by daphne bord on December 20, 2010 at 1:52pm Hi all-
This is just an informal announcement of plans to have an Ice Sculpture event this February along CanalWalk. Details to follow, but I just wanted to throw the idea out there to this group now so that anyone interested could begin exploring ideas.
A winter ice festival will be held on Feb 4-6 in 2011, in the process of being organized by MIFA, PassportHolyoke and the City. PassportHolyoke will be creating a simple Ice Sculpture proposal form that will be downloadable from their website, so that artists have the ability to let them know what resources would be used and needed. Issues like transport of sculpture or keeping the sculptures frozen if they are made in advance may need to be worked out, and so that form will be a means of organization to that end.
More info on the planning of the festival is here (second meeting this Wednesday at 5:30 at MIFA). Any and all ideas are most welcome.
