about the Ward 4 Trash Bash

We (Tim Purington, Stan Geddes, Daphne Board, John Hamson) started cleaning the streets and sidewalks and occasionally the alleys of Ward 4 four years ago. Many people have joined the effort along the way, and many neighbors have helped out by removing trash from their sidewalks and streets.

There is still work to be done--of course--so we will be meeting regularly. We separate out the recyclables, and the DPW usually picks up the trash and recycling bags the next day.

Bags and bins are provided, we usually have some extra gloves, but feel free to bring your own gloves and water.

Awww pish, I had been planning on this trash bash for a while, but I totally forgot that Tuesdays are Tuesday Market day AND 2 open swims at the Y.

I know that I can always do a solo bash...but I miss the group.

Yea I called again today and found out it's just an generic answering service.  Next letters.. but I'm not worried, I'll eventually get someones attention even if it gets me in a little hot water.  They've been asked several times by their own paying clients to improve and care for the area, so I feel justified acting outside the normal resolution methods.

Public Property records can be obtained online by typing in the address, to see who owns buildings, but this can be tricky to find, sometimes.  I like your idea of a requirement to post contact, info, John.

You probably won't get a call back, but how about writing to them, instead of calling?  Email or good old fashioned mail, addressed to the director's office.  Someone will read it..

I wrote to the mayor asking to get my vacant lot mowed and the weeds by the sidewalk done, also...

I thought today; wouldn't be great if any large rental until would be required to post their contact info on a public area of the building.   Anyway.. I have a feeling the

juvenile courts mgt company will never call me back.   But if we took all the trash we find and build homeless sleeping tubes and trash cans from the trash on the area they could improve; that might serve the the essence of this area better than shrubbery.

One thing we need is a list of property managers in the area.   I only know of the juvenile courts management companies number.  I don't want to post them online without giving anyone a chance, but email me jhamson@techiemon.com if anyone would like to call them and say how their property looks is important to us, especially since it's tax dollars paying for the eyesore and I hear their other properties are immaculate.  The workers at the court complain but it seems to fall on deaf ears.
