There is no need for Holyoke Fire Fighters Association Local 1693 to “try to arrange another (mayoral) forum” as reported in Mike Plaisance’s story (Holyoke mayoral forum scuttled) in the Sept. 5, 2009 edition of The Republican because the union has already voted to endorse my opponent, Elaine A. Pluta.

Over a week ago, a friend was contacted by someone from the Firefighters Union stating they were interested in holding a mayoral debate. That firefighter was told that we wanted an invitation in writing that spelled out -- who, what, when, where, why and the expected ultimate outcome. As of 1:30 p.m., this date, I have had no direct contact from anyone in the Firefighters Union.
