- My Passion to see Holyoke become a city known for its historic architecture, pristine landscapes, clean, safe neighborhoods and active community.
- What is your favorite thing about Holyoke?
- The People, Beautiful, Affordable Housing, Mt. Tom State Park, St. Patrick's Day Parade and Road Race, Whitings Reservoir, Canal System, Connecticut River, YMCA, Nick's Nest, Fernandez Family Restaurant, Holyoke High Sports (especially Basketball), HCC, Pizza D'Action
- What do you think are some of Holyoke's greatest attributes?
- Access to I-91 and the Mass Pike, relatively inexpensive, clean energy, affordable residential and commercial space
- What do you think are some of Holyoke's worst attributes?
- Image- We need to really focus on improving the image of the city. Holyoke is a beautiful, historical city, with affordable housing, access to major highways, a planned downtown powered by inexpensive, clean energy. Holyoke residents and residents of surrounding communities alike need to be reminded of all Holyoke has to offer.
Community Involvement- We need to be more active in bringing people together to make an initial investment in the city.
- What are the top issues that Holyoke needs to focus on?
- Restaurants, Arts & Cultural Events, Neighborhood Cleanup, Safer Streets, Pedestrian Friendly, Communication Network, Access To Politics, Better Schools

More Mayor? Asking the Right Question
About 10 miles from Springfield City Hall, Mike Sullivan is in his fifth, and final, two-year term as mayor of Holyoke. He used to wish the city had four-year mayoral terms, which, he said, would give the officeholder more time to implement his or her agenda and policies.
But over time, Sullivan told the Advocate, his thinking changed. "Four years is more appropriate than two years," he said. "But are we asking the right question? Do we need a mayor at all?"
