Via the grapevine and the Planning Office I was able to find the (dated August 2009) Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. "Plan for the Hearth of Our Community" (45pp, 7.8 MBpdf).
It is filled with (in my view) lots of pretty and well-crafted graphics and some inspiring ideas.
Specimen Ballots for 11/3/09 Election Available at City Clerk's Office
The Clerk's office has declined to provide electronic versions of the specimen ballot (online or by email), however they are available at their office in City Hall.
They will give you a photocopy of whichever Ward you like.
Here is a sample from ward 6, which will be the same for many offices (but different for others, obviously).
Have you been itching for an easy way to pitch in?
One of our properties of natural resource and historic value -- the Crane Estate-- is competing with 24 other historic sites in the Boston area for a share of $1 million in funding from the Partners in Preservation program, sponsored the National Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express. We will be using this money to do vital repairs to keep the Estate in tip-top shape.

Hi Josh,
this is my first time doing a face-book response so I don't really understand how it all works. we just moved here from noho and before that philadlephia, and i'm interested in involvement in holyoke revitalization--i have lots of strategic planning and development skills--you can visit my website www.ellenbernstein.org So if you have any suggestions for me about organizations to get involved with, I'm interested. where's the Crane Estate?

Hi Josh,
Thanks for coming over to see my dinosaur garden ideas. It was fun seeing you and Brita. Thinking about the traffic island, how about dwarf Ginkho trees underplanted with hay scented fern? Hay scented fern is a terrific ground cover that really keeps weeds down once it is established, also sun tolerant and inexpensive. If you want me to check with Mass Highway for permission, let me know. I'd be happy to facilitate, no charge, if you are interested.
Hi Josh, I'm sorry I can't make it to Mondays meeting. Mondays are very difficult with my schedule until the end of May, but I hope to be at the next one!
Thanks for the comments. I love Mt. Tom, always have. Used to "live" there as a teenager, yet as an adult, I appreciate the beauty of it. The day I took those pictures, it was bitterly cold but the scenery was incredible. The "snow devil" on Bray Lake was fantastic to watch.. about every 5 minutes or so, one would pop up. I have been to the Dinosaur tracks numerous times, and have taken my girls there as well, also numerous times. I really have no idea about the history of Mt. Tom or the Dinosaur tracks. It's really an ironic situation that I find most Holyoker's don't realize: a lot of non residents know more about the history of Holyoke than our own community.
People ask me "where do you go to relax or what's your favorite spot, in or out of town?" Without a doubt, Ashley Res, in the fall! To me, it's an Oasis!! Bike riding through there and just sitting under a tree. The view is beyond magnificent. One of Holyoke's hidden gems!!
Thank you for the invitation this evening, however I had other plans, which fell through at the last minute. Please keep me on your list!--Mary
We were x-c skiing at Mt Tom this afternoon, and just now (8pm Sunday Jan 11) noticed your invitation for the Trek. Sorry we missed it. Obviously we COULD have joined you. We skied in from Rte 141 along the road, then took the old fire road back (or bushwhacked cross country when the trail became too steep). Hope you have a good time. - Sandy & Ken
