Hello Holyoke

Holyoke never stops amazing me

Profile Information

What is the talent/skill that you can bring to c.r.u.s.h.?
I can swing a hammer and tinker with almost anything. I also like to help create community by getting involved in organizing events and situations that bring people together to plan and to do. Do do do do do do
And I have a big van that you can borrow.
What is your favorite thing about Holyoke?
Kays bakery
What do you think are some of Holyoke's worst attributes?
The naysayers that so frequently surface in this city. And those who benefit financially from maintaining the status quo. Holyoke has as much or more going for it than similar towns in New England but it is the child left behind when it comes to revitalization.
What are the top issues that Holyoke needs to focus on?
Arts & Cultural Events, Green Industry, Neighborhood Cleanup, Community Space, Access To Politics

Thanks for asking about my book. I write what you could call narrative nonfiction or literary journalism. I'm in the research stage now so a lot remains to be seen. But I want to tell a story about where Holyoke is today, and where it's going, framed in context of its history. I see it as the rise, fall, and rebirth of a town, in a nutshell. Holyoke is such a diverse place, and I want to capture that with an interesting mix of characters that will help being the town's story to life.
