Today is July 28th, the last day for most candidates to file their papers. Now the Holyoke political season will start heating up.

The Chamber of Commerce and the Holyoke Taxpayers Association are planning a Mayoral and City Councilor Debate after the primary.

The last debate in 2005 suffered technical problems. The audio totally failed, and residents watching from home heard nothing but silence. No recording of the event was made.

The May 29th Crush Party was another late starter due to scheduling of the Urban Renewal Hearings at the War Memorial Building. It sorta makes for two Crush events in one night. Urban Renewal, and Urban Success. Not too much difference, and Success/Renewal of the four lower census tracts is what Crush is all about.… Continue
