The last debate in 2005 suffered technical problems. The audio totally failed, and residents watching from home heard nothing but silence. No recording of the event was made.
I think Crush could be a great help in this department. We ha…

The May 29th Crush Party was another late starter due to scheduling of the
Urban Renewal Hearings at the War Memorial Building. It sorta makes for two Crush events in one night. Urban Renewal, and Urban Success. Not too much difference, and Success/Renewal of the four lower census tracts is what Crush is all about.…

The Jan 29th Crush Party was lightly attended, but I would have been surprised if it hadn't been. Roads were still icy from the storm of the day before. It was cold out, and many people have been sick with the flu going around.

Still, It was a…

The plan was presented at the 138th annual meeting of the Holyoke Public Library Corporation on Oct. 21.…

Story from the Boston Globe Daniel Ross walks through a garden in South Holyoke with plants straight out of Puerto Rico, chicharos and jabaneros. This was the first of what are now 10 jardines comunitarios -- community gardens -- located throughout low-income neighborhoods in the area, and it sits about a half block from the blighted Main Street shopping district, a place where vacant…

Story from the Republican There has been a lot of give and take - both pro and con - on the proposed Canal Walk for Holyoke.
To those who are not sure, or are against the project, I suggest a trip to Newburyport, R.I.

If you've spent any significant part of your life in the Valley, chances are you've driven through the park dozens—if not thousands—of times: Interstate 91 bisects a corner of it. Still, that doesn't make it any easier to know it's there, much less find a way in.…
