The May 29th Crush Party was another late starter due to scheduling of the
Urban Renewal Hearings at the War Memorial Building. It sorta makes for two Crush events in one night. Urban Renewal, and Urban Success. Not too much difference, and Success/Renewal of the four lower census tracts is what Crush is all about.
I saw more Crushers at the War Memorial building for the hearing than at the
Bungalow for the party afterwards, but It was a good party all the same. I had a nice chat with
Sandy Ward about the pros and cons of electric vehicles. I also had a chance to catch up with my budz from the Transfer Station hearings,
Lizz Bud, and Kevin Garcia.
Glenn Sullivan corrected me on the location of North, and South Canal Street, as well as just plain Canal Street. Who knew Holyoke had such a complicated Street? Talking with the Crush webmaster
Jim Chevalier is always stimulating to a cyber geek like myself. Jim has some great ideas for
crushonholyoke.org.
When I left my house on foot for the Urban Renewal meeting I had no idea how I would get to the Bungalow, or get home afterwards. But good vibes, and a rides from Crushers got me around the city, and home with no worries. I could not have imagined it would be this way just a year ago.
Is it just me? Or Holyoke starting to become a cool place. In any case, Crush deserves a little bit a credit for the vibes I'm feeling.
