Holyoke's Social Network

made possible by Citizens for the Revitalization and Urban Success of Holyoke

I recently heard that Facebook purchased FriendFeed, so I decided to give it a go...

It's a bit of a cross between a personalized RSS Feed, Twitter, and a blogging service like BlogSpot, Tumblr, or LiveJournal.

You can write your own posts from within FriendFeed, or you can set it up to automatically be updated with posts from other sites like Flickr, StumbleUpon, Digg, YouTube, Twitter, other Blogs, etc...

I decided to put the C.R.U.S.H. FriendFeed account through the wringer by tossing everything Holyoke-related that I could find at it. Since I'm pushing a wide assortment of updates through the FriendFeed page, please don't assume that the posts represent any single person or group's opinions - I'm casting the net as wide as possible on this one!

At the moment there are 14 blogs, 5 Flickr accounts, and an assortment of other sites & feeds being pushed through. I have a list here, if you'd like to see what's being added or if you'd like to suggest other sites to push through it.

It's an interesting way to keep up with things happening in Holyoke; I hope it's useful to some of you!
